HISTORYLINKS MUSEUM

Catalogue and Albums

Catalogue

The museum catalogue is maintained using ADLIB software. As at June 2008 in excess of 7,000 digital photographs or scanned images have been linked to the catalogue, providing a visual record of approximately 60% of the museum collection. A programme to produce images of the remaining 40% of catalogued objects is due to be completed by March 2009.

The Dornoch Historylinks Image Library provides public access to descriptive data and images from the museum catalogue. The image library is interactive providing users with the facility to add comments to image pages and in this way it is hoped that we may gain factual and background information to add to our catalogue data.

Albums

In addition to the search facility, the Image Library provides a means to view images in subject related albums.

Access to the Image Library for Museum Visitors

A computer is available in the museum for visitor access to the Historylinks Image Library.
